    Still Life Illusion. Marquetry by its nature produces a more graphic image. I like the technique, as the whole effect is defined by the accurate cutting of wood veneer inlays. The lady vase and the flower, the snail and the tea cup sitting on the table are watched by the butterfly behind the intersecting slats of the open window. Because of the overall soft texture of the wood, the light is naturally suffused and makes no difference between the outside and the inside world , all is in nature and this conveys a sense of illusion as if the objects were caught in the calm stillness of time.

We have twenty-five of 6ft X 2ft tables to hire at £20.00 each (not refundable unless the event is cancelled). There is a small car park where you can unload, but limited parking on site. If you would like to attend as a stallholder please contact Geoff Jordan who will send you a booking form and terms and conditions. Refreshments will be available to purchase.     Still Life Illusion. Marquetry by its nature produces a more graphic image. I like the technique, as the whole effect is defined by the accurate cutting of wood veneer inlays. The lady vase and the flower, the snail and the tea cup sitting on the table are watched by the butterfly behind the intersecting slats of the open window. Because of the overall soft texture of the wood, the light is naturally suffused and makes no difference between the outside and the inside world , all is in nature and this conveys a sense of illusion as if the objects were caught in the calm stillness of time.
